Offering RV Storage For Our Clients

When it comes to what a self-storage facility can offer, sometimes I feel a little limited. Everyone assumes that all we do is rent units for them to store their treasures and junk and nothing else. But for us to compete in the market that we are in, we have decided to take things one step further and offer RV storage.
Even though we wanted to offer this new service, we really had no idea whether or not it would be successful. I didn’t want to waste a lot of money before testing if there was a market, so I thought that I would do something a little more temporary and get some vinyl storage sheds that were big enough to house the RVs. I figured if I could rent out these temporary solutions, then there would be some evidence that building a permanent storage facility for RV storage.
We had some difficulties finding a supplier of sheds that were big enough for our needs, but after some searching we found someone that could accommodate our needs. But after we setup the first sheds, there was a flood of people that wanted to store their RVs. That was the evidence that we needed and now we are looking to build a more permanent facility.
Finding contractors in town that were interested in helping us building a new building was a lot easier than I would have thought. In fact, after putting out our tender, we had five bids in the first week soliciting our business. Though most of the offers were tempting, we decided to go with a newer construction firm in town and I think that they will build the perfect building for our needs.
Hopefully we will have our new RV storage building ready by fall and will be able to offer RV storage to everyone in town. It feels great finding a new spin to our otherwise boring storage facility business.
